Background
As a computer science student, I wanted to showcase my skills in a way that a one page resume could not. I wanted to further develop my coding abilities, especially in HTML, CSS and Javascript.
What is the problem?
When recruiters look at job applications, a one page resume is hard to convey a sense of skills and personality. I wanted to build a site to address this.
What is the minimum viable product? (MVP)
The key goals of the project were to create an easily navigable website with clear information, and learn HTML, Javascript and CSS more throughouly. The minimum viable product (MVP) included a site with basic projects showcased, and some information about me.
What is the product roadmap?
September 2023: Problem identified. Started developing the original design.
October 2023: Identified issues with design. Developed a new design concept. Wireframing in Figma.
November 2023: Launched site on Netlify. Decided to utilize Webflow to make a more complete design after learning was successful.
What is the user journey?
The user clicks on the link from my LinkedIn or resume. The user is taken to a homepage with a quick summary of me. They can easily find the projects section and click on one for more information. The user is taken to the specific project page, where they can visually see the product and read more information, including a brief synopsis and a more in depth product analysis. At any time, the user can navigate to the home page, about page, or my resume. When clicked the about link from the navbar, the user is taken to the about page, where they can get more information about me.
How do we measure success?
Although I have not set up analytics on the site yet, I identified some key performance indicators (KPI's) to measure success in the future.
Reach 100 pageviews in 2 months after deployment.
